Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino (FCO) is Rome's main international airport, and where most long-haul flights land.
The four options
1. Leonardo Express — the default choice
€14, 32 minutes, non-stop to Roma Termini. It's the fastest and most predictable way in. Buy at the airport or book ahead.
2. Airport bus
€7, about an hour, also to Termini. Cheaper than the train and slower — fine if you're not in a hurry and would rather keep the difference.
3. Taxi
A fixed fare of €55, about 45 minutes. Worth it with heavy luggage, or with enough people to split it. Rome publishes official flat fares from the airports — confirm with the driver before you set off that this is what you're paying.
4. Private transfer
A driver meets you with a name board and takes you to the hotel door. This is the one to book with elderly passengers, small children, a lot of luggage, or a late-night arrival.

Which to pick
Staying near Termini or on a metro line? The Leonardo Express is the best value for the time it saves. On a budget and not in a rush? The bus does the job. Travelling as a group, arriving late, or hauling large cases? Taxi or a pre-booked transfer will be less painful.
