🇫🇷Orly Airport to City Center 2026: Metro 14 Direct, and the Cheap Way
Metro Line 14 reached Orly in June 2024 and it is now the obvious way in: 25 minutes, no changes. How it compares with the €2.55 tram route, when Orlyval still makes sense, and the flat taxi fares.

Orly (ORY) sits south of Paris and handles most domestic and short-haul European flights.
In June 2024 Metro Line 14 was extended to the airport — easily the most useful change to Paris transport in years. Getting in from Orly used to mean two or three connections; it's now a single train to the middle of the city. Plenty of guides still describe the old Orlyval-plus-RER-B routine.

First choice: Metro Line 14
Why it wins: no changes, frequent trains, and the station is inside the airport (closest to Orly 3, walkable from every terminal).
Time: about 25 minutes to central Paris; 16 minutes from Olympiades.
Line 14 is fully automated and runs straight through the middle of the city, so the interchange options are excellent — Gare de Lyon, Châtelet and Saint-Lazare are all on it.
Ticket: you need the €14 airport fare (Ticket Paris Région <> Aéroports). An ordinary metro ticket will not open the gates.
The Line 14 station at Orly has ticket machines only — there is no staffed ticket window, though staff are on hand to help you through the kiosk.
What to know about that €14 ticket
It's the same fare as at CDG, with the same restrictions. The three that matter:
Digital only — there is no paper version. It has to sit on a Navigo Easy card (€2), a transport app, or Apple Wallet.
One card cannot hold both the airport fare and ordinary metro tickets, and you must wait four hours after the last validation to swap types. So the card that brings you in from Orly won't get you on the metro again that afternoon — bring a second card, or keep metro tickets on your phone.
One card or phone per traveller. You can't tap the same card twice for two people.
In Apple Wallet the fare is called "One Way from/to Airports", and you can buy it before you leave home — the clock only starts on first tap. Full details in CDG Airport to City Center.
The cheap way: Tram T7 + Metro 7
€2.55 — about a fifth of the airport fare.
Take tram T7 from the airport for roughly 40 minutes to Villejuif–Louis Aragon, then Metro Line 7 into the city.
The trade-off: about an hour door to door, on a street-running tram that stops constantly, and most Line 7 platforms have no lift. Not a route for a large suitcase — but perfectly reasonable with one backpack and a preference for keeping €11.50.
Note T7 uses a standard metro ticket (€2.55) and is not covered by the €14 airport fare, which only includes the express trams T11–T13.
Orlyval + RER B
Orlyval is the driverless shuttle between the airport and Antony on RER B.
Since 2025 Orlyval is included in the €14 airport ticket — it used to require a separate fare, which is another detail older guides get wrong.
When to choose it: you're staying along the northern stretch of RER B (around Gare du Nord or Châtelet), or you're transferring straight from Orly to CDG — one €14 ticket covers Orly → Antony → CDG end to end.
Otherwise Line 14 is faster and simpler.

Flat taxi fares
Orly is south of the city, so the Left Bank is the cheaper side — the opposite of CDG:
- To the Left Bank (south of the Seine): €36
- To the Right Bank: €45
Luggage and up to four passengers included, at any hour. Use the official rank, and don't follow anyone who approaches you inside the terminal.
FAQ
How many terminals does Orly have?
Orly 1, 2, 3 and 4, linked by free internal Orlyval shuttles and walkways. The Line 14 station is closest to Orly 3; the others are a signposted walk.
What if I land late at night?
Line 14 runs on normal metro hours, roughly 05:30 to 01:15, later on Friday and Saturday. Outside that it's a taxi.
Is Orlybus still running?
Orlybus is an airport coach and is not covered by the €14 ticket — you'd buy it separately. Since Line 14 opened there's little reason to. Its counterpart at CDG, Roissybus, has been reported as discontinued in March 2026; airport coach services have changed repeatedly in recent years, so check the RATP site before relying on one.
How long should I allow going to the airport?
The train itself is 25 minutes, but with finding the station, waiting and walking to check-in, budget an hour before you add security.
